Wipro Interview Questions for Freshers: Programmes & Rounds

Wipro hires freshers through named programmes rather than one test: Elite for engineering graduates across India, Turbo for 46 premier institutes, STAR for 13 top technical institutes, the Work Integrated Learning Programme for BCA and B.Sc graduates, and a B-School programme for MBAs. Each drive usually has an online assessment followed by technical and HR interviews, and Wipro sends the exact rounds in the drive email. Prepare aptitude, one programming language, your project and HR answers.

Wipro doesn't publish a round-by-round format on its careers site, so check your invitation for the current pattern. Which programme you can apply for depends mainly on your degree and college. Most engineering freshers outside premier institutes apply through Elite.

What the rounds usually look like

Expect an online assessment first, then interviews. The table shows what to prepare for each stage; your drive email has the authoritative pattern and timings.

Technical interview questions to prepare

These fundamentals come up in most fresher technical interviews. They aren't a leaked Wipro list.

Programming

• Write a program to find the factorial of a number, with and without recursion.
• Swap two numbers without a third variable.
• Find duplicate elements in an array.
• What is the difference between call by value and call by reference?
• What are pointers? (For C/C++ candidates.)

Object-oriented programming and databases

• Explain the four pillars of OOP with examples.
• What is method overloading vs overriding?
• What is a primary key, foreign key and unique key?
• Write an SQL query to count employees in each department.
• What is a join? Explain INNER and LEFT JOIN.

Computer science basics

• What is an operating system? What is a process vs a thread?
• What is the difference between TCP and UDP?
• What is cloud computing? Name the service models.

Your project

• Explain your project in two minutes, and what you personally built.
• What would you improve if you rebuilt it?
